The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a one-time, sole source, firm fixed price contract with Thermo Electron North America LLC, 1400 N Point PKWY STE 10, West Palm Beach, FL, 33407-1976 for the purposeof procuring a one-time repair service of its existing DXR Raman Spectrometer.

The FBI's Explosives Unit (EU) is performing safety and characterization testing as part of the explosives characterization research efforts. The DXR Raman Spectrometer currently has abeam alignment problem that requires repairs. The repair service must include all parts, labor and travel. The contractor will diagnose the source of the beam alignment issue and use the Raman system components to fit seamlessly into the existing Thermo DXR Spectrometer and be expertly installed by a trained and licensed Thermo Electron North America LLC technician.

Based on market research, and Government end-users, it has been determined that Thermo Electron North America LLC is the sole manufacturer of the FBI's existing DXR Raman Spectrometer requiring repair service.
