This is a Small business Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualifiedsmall business sources:(2) whether there are small businesses, HUBZONE small businesses, service disabled veteran-owned small businesses or (8a) small businesses, veteran- owned small business, woman-owned small businesses or small disadvantaged businesses veteran owned small businesses; woman owned businesses, or small disadvantaged businesses and (3) their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the nation's foremost federally funded biomedical research institution. It is comprised of twenty-seven Institutes, Centers and Divisions. The Warren G. Magnuson Clinical Center is the on-site 267-bed hospital for the NIH campus comprised of clinical, laboratory and administrative staff who support the Institutes as they conduct clinical research working with inpatients and outpatients participating inresearch studies at the NIH.
The Department of Laboratory Medicine servesas the clinical laboratory of the NIH Clinical Center. It provides laboratory support for patient care and research protocols and performs research and training in disciplines of Clinical Pathology. In doing so, DLM provides state-of-the-art laboratory testing in support of Clinical Center patient care and serves as acenter of excellence in research and training in laboratory medicine, particularly in areas which utilize the unique strengths of the National Institutes of Health.
Approval of a purchase order for one year's supply of reagents and supplies from Qiagen for extraction of nucleic acids for molecular testing of organisms that cause infection in NIH Clinical Center patients. These reagents allow for the provision of rapid, efficient, and automated extraction ofnucleic acid (DNA) from clinical samples using the Qia Symphony instrument. Dueto the specificity and rigorous validation testing performed in lab, these reagents are the only ones that can meet the needs of the testing that we conduct inthe Microbiology Service, DLM, CC, NIH.
The anticipate that this purchase order for supplies for a base plus one (1)option year one.

Base year = 7/1/18 to 6/30/19
Option year 1 = 7/1/19 to 6/30/20
