Airport Technology Research & Development Contract Strategy Industry Day

The FAA William J Hughes Technical Center is planning an Industry Day on December 3, 2019 to discuss the acquisition strategy relative to the Airport Technology Research and Development (ATRD) program. For those interested in supporting the ATRD program, the Industry Day will provide information on the revised approach the FAA has adopted in procuring the services needed to support this program.

Historically, support for ATRD has been procured primarily through one multi-year contract vehicle. In recent years, the ATRD portfolio has become more diverseand complex. This requires a new approach to effectively support the program. The FAA has identified distinct functional areas, programs, or projects that may be supported separately through various contract mechanisms. The various facets of this program and the specific acquisition strategies intended to be applied to each will be discussed.

You are invited to join us to hear about the many new opportunities available to industry and academia to support this historically budgeted $33 Million a yearprogram.

Tours of the ATRD buildings and labs will take place in the afternoon to allow prospective bidders on future procurement opportunities to view the facilities.

For additional information on the ATRD program, please visit their website: https://www.airporttech.tc.faa.gov/
