The ability to access and track assets through facilities is vital to ensure timely scheduled preventive maintenance, accurate inventory capture, and efficient allocation of assets for patient care. Initial RTLS requirements will focus on asset tracking to facilitate preventive maintenance and inventory management. This pre-solicitation notice is to inform industry that the Naval Medical Logistics Command (NMLC) intends to release solicitation number N62645-12-R-0023 between the projected dates of June 1-15, 2012.In addition to the release of the solicitation, all vendors will be given the opportunity to visit both the Naval Medical Center (NMC) Portsmouth in Portsmouth, VA and Naval Hospital (NH) Beaufort in Beaufort, South Carolina. The solicitation will identify the specific dates and times for each site, however it is anticipated that visits will happen the week of June 17, 2012. The requirement will be fulfilled via an unrestricted full and open competitive acquisition. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry ClassificationSystem (NAICS) 334119 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,000 employees. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items andpart 15, Contracting by Negotiating, will be used for this requirement.
